Overview
Combo Drop is a game developed by Cody Casey, David Machov, and myself at the Philly Game Jam 2016. Our themes, which everyone choose randomly, were: Just out of reach, diversity in combination, and minimalism. The result was Combo drop a colorful, yet simple shape stacking game that requires you to quickly reach the top as the floor sinks below you.
Since the game jam I have ported the game to Unity as the original was done in javascript, which I was not as familiar with. After porting the game, I started implementing the two additional power ups and additional features we never got to add during the game jam.
Contributions
The development of this game was an interesting experience as it was done outside my comfort zone in terms of development experience. Our other coder, Cody, took point on the coding side as he was much more familiar with javascript than I was. That said I did what ever I could and learn a lot along the way
